The Caucasus, a harsh mountainous area which separates Europe from Asia, has been weaving rugs since the 16th Century, reaching its historical peak in the 19th Century.
The district of Shirvan produced some of the finest rugs in the Caucasus using the best wool, weaving techniques and dyes to produce the most delicate geometric designs.
The Afghan reproductions are stunningly similar to the original Antique Shirvan rugs.
