We promise to despatch all orders within 48 hours though we usually do better than that – usually same day if ordered before lunchtime, next day otherwise. We sometimes despatch on Saturdays – but not always. If it’s urgent, email or call us and we’ll make sure – or let you know if we can’t!
UK: Parcels and packages up to 2kg are usually sent by Royal Mail. Packages over 2kg are sent by courier – usually either Parcelforce, Interlink or Fastway. These services usually require a signature so it might be worth considering delivery to a work address if you are not usually home during the day – or we can write anything on the package such as “try next door if out” etc. – let us know under “special instructions” when ordering. Courier services are usually next day for most of the UK or two day for Highlands and Islands, and Northern Ireland.
Outside UK: Packages under 2kg are usually sent by Royal Mail Small Packet Airmail service which takes approx. 4-7 working days to Europe; 7-10 working days to USA/RotW. Packages over 4kg are sent by courier service – usually FedEx, DPD or Parcelforce Worldwide. Western Europe are usually sent overland, elsewhere by air. Typical delivery times are 3-5 days for Western Europe; a day or two more for more distant European destinations and up to 10 days for the Rest of the World. For orders between 2kg and 4kg, we may send by either method. Small Packet Airmail is only available up to 2kg but splitting an order for between 2kg and 4kg into two separate packages often makes more sense than sending one larger parcel by courier.
All orders sent outside the EU will have appropriate customs information on the package. In the event of any import duty or purchase tax being payable at the port of entry, it is the responsibility of the receiver. This is usually only applicable for very large orders but varies from country to country. Check your country’s customs website!
Personal Callers: We do not have a shop and our goods are packed away in storage – not easily available for “browsing”. However, if it is convenient for you to collect in person from our Marlborough address (or you want to see a particular item before buying, that is no problem – but do call ahead – we are not always here – and much of our stock is at a different location – so if you turn up unannounced, you may be disappointed for one of those reasons!
We ship Worldwide We will happily send goods anywhere. The only exceptions are mains electrical products which our insurance does not allow us to send outside the EU; some chemical products which air carriers will not accept; and a small number of low value but bulky products which, because of their size, would incur a disproportionate shipping charge to send by air. If you get an error message during checkout saying the item is not available to you, it is likely to be one of these reasons. Email us if you need further clarification.
If you are ordering from outside the European Union, for delivery outside the European Union, we do not need to charge you UK VAT. All prices on this site include VAT at 17.5%. If your destination Country at checkout qualifies, this will automatically be deducted before payment. That makes quite a big difference – why not buy a few more things?!
