The Professional Water Rocket - Flies Hundreds of Feet in the Air!
I'm sure you are all familiar with the classic school science experiment using an old Coke bottle half full of water and bicycle pump to make a rocket. Well forget about that! Although it uses the same principles of Sir Isaac Newton's third law of motion (that every action has an equal and opposite reaction), the Professional Water Rocket applies this with vastly more impressive results, flying up to 400 feet in any direction!!
Developed by the Science Museum this rocket is a great way for children to learn and have fun and can be used to explore science at both Key Stages 2 and 3 of the National Curriculum.
Just add water, 10 pumps of air, squeeze the hand launcher (after giving a NASA-style countdown complete with sound effects of course!) and stand well back and watch the rocket shoot hundreds of feet into the air leaving an impressive vapour trail of water behind!
