The perfect and original gift. The Field Maple (acer campestre) is a medium sized (15m/49ft) picturesque tree with attractive foliage. Its leaves, shaped like an open hand, unfurl pinkish and turn a spectacular yellow/red in the autumn. Seed heads are winged and fall as "helicopters" or "keys". The sap is sugary and used to make syrup or wine. Happy in shade and on most soil types. Very tolerant of air pollution. Other tree varieties available, see “Similar Products” below.
