The perfect and original gift. Our native Hawthorn (crataegus monogyna) is also known as May, Quickthorn & Whitethorn. It is slow growing and forms a mystical, ancient looking tree (10m/33ft). The perfusion of pink tinged, deeply scented white flowers in May mark the onset of spring. The abundant red berries are probably the main winter food for wild birds and small mammals. Hawthorn is very hardy and even tolerant of city pollution. Other tree varieties available, see “Similar Products” below.
