This book has been researched and written by Jill (Jilly) Ashley Miller in order to raise money for NORWICH MENCAP who look after her Down's Syndrome daughter. All proceeds go directly to the charity. This is the story of her grandparents and their families, the McNaughtons and the Kitsons. Although one family hailed from Scotland and the other from Yorkshire, both were fired by the Industrial Revolution and, in particular, by the coming of the railway. It is a fascinating insight into Victorian social mobility, complete with over 150 portraits and photographs dating back to the 1800s.
