The perfect and original gift. The Bird Cherry (prunus padus) is a small (12m/39ft) native tree and is perfect for most gardens. It is decked with small fragrant white blossoms in spring (see below) attracting butterflies and bees. In autumn the leaves turn yellow and pink and the black fruits are irresistible to birds.
