Locating your Bird Ball
Birds that visit your garden are territorial, so to help them use the birdball position it away from feeders, other nesting areas and out of reach of inquisitive little fingers and paws. Find a sheltered spot out of direct sunlight and prevailing winds where the birdball can hang unhindered at least 1.5m (5ft) from the ground.
Birds can take months or even years to use a new nesting site but often return annually when they find one they like. You may remove old nesting materials from the birdball between October and November, and rinse the inside thoroughly with hot water. Never use bleach, detergent or any other harsh cleaning products. The birdball is made from frost resistant natural materials and may weather with time.
